Every closure that leaves a filling line is set against a neck that a neck ring formed. The thread, the sealing face and the support ring of a PET container all come from that insert. Foshan Baijinyi (BJY) makes the 98*35.58mm neck ring from mold steel hardened to HRC 53, with a DLC diamond coating on the forming face.

    Three Features on One Insert

The thread takes the cap. The sealing face carries the pressure. The support ring holds the bottle in the grippers and on the rails. All three are formed against the neck ring while the container is made. When the insert changes shape, all three change with it.

  • What the Filler Meets

Filling heads close against the sealing face at speed. Capping heads turn the closure onto the thread and stop at a set torque. Both operations assume a neck that is round and square. Both stations run at line speed, and a neck that is a little off passes through them without comment. An out-of-round neck takes the torque unevenly. The closure then sits at an angle rather than flat.

    Where the Loss Appears

A badly seated closure does not always fail at the line. The filler check is not the last word on the matter. Pressure is held through the labeller and lost weeks later in the warehouse. Plants then find leaking cases long after the run. Tracking those bottles back usually leads to the neck, and the neck leads to the neck ring.

    What BJY Supplies

The insert comes with complete BJY mold sets, and it is also sold on its own for molds that already run. HRC 53 keeps the split edges stable under closing impact. The DLC coating protects the forming face against friction and wear. The three features keep their shape for the working life of the insert. The combination adds more than 10% to total mold life.
