Product Overview

This 600ml PET blow mold is developed for bottles using the 1881 neck finish, based on a 28g preform design. The final bottle dimension is ø150 × 532.1 mm. The mold is made from A6061 aluminum, a material widely used in blow mold production due to its balanced performance in machining and heat transfer.

In actual production, bottle quality is not only determined by the mold itself, but also by how well it works together with the blowing process. Especially on aseptic filling lines, consistency matters more than anything else. A stable mold helps reduce variation from bottle to bottle, which is critical for downstream filling and packaging.

    How the Blowing Process Affects the Bottle

    In PET stretch blow molding, three actions happen almost at the same time: stretching, pre-blowing, and final blowing. Even though each step is very short, their coordination has a direct impact on the final bottle.

    The early stage — stretching and pre-blowing — plays a key role. It determines how the material spreads from the preform into the bottle body and base. If this stage is not controlled well, the result is usually uneven wall thickness or weak areas.

    To get stable results, parameters such as:

    • when stretching begins
    • how fast the stretch rod moves
    • when pre-blowing starts and stops
    • pre-blow air pressure and flow

    need to be adjusted carefully. In some cases, controlling the temperature distribution of the preform also helps improve consistency, especially the difference between inner and outer wall temperatures.

    During fast blowing and cooling, internal stress is formed inside the bottle wall. This is not always a problem. For carbonated bottles, it can improve pressure resistance. But for hot-fill applications, stress needs to be released properly to avoid deformation later.
