Choke of capper

The choke (or capping choke) is a critical component in the capping head of a filling machine. It ensures precise control over the torque, alignment, and vertical movement of the capping mechanism when applying caps (e.g., screw caps, press-on caps) to bottles. Its primary role is to regulate the force applied during the capping process to avoid under- or over-tightening caps, which could lead to leaks, damaged threads, or deformed containers.

  • Name

    Choke of capper

  • Key Functions of the Choke
    1. Torque Control

       – Adjusts the rotational force (torque) applied to screw caps, ensuring consistent tightness without damaging the bottle neck or cap.

       – Prevents over-tightening (which can crack containers) or under-tightening (which causes leaks).

    1. Vertical Pressure Regulation

       – Manages the downward force exerted on the cap during application, especially for press-fit or snap-on caps.

       – Ensures caps are seated evenly and securely.

    1. Alignment Guidance

       – Works with sensors or mechanical guides to align the capping head with the bottle neck, reducing misalignment errors.

    1. Adaptability

       – Can be adjusted for different cap sizes, materials (plastic, metal), or bottle types (PET, glass).
